Potion Sickness reduces the effectiveness of health potions when used excessively in a short period, eventually preventing further potion use until the effect wears off. Separate counters track self-thrown and externally received potions, with different thresholds depending on the world and gear type.

Potion Sickness

  • Using too many Trinkets in a short period of time may now give a player Potion Sickness!
  • Potion Sickness causes health potion Trinkets to become less effective after a certain threshold has been met, then after further use of Health Potion Trinkets you will hit a limit and be unable to throw a Health Potion Trinkets until your potion sickness effect wears off
  • Potion Sickness will be active in Adventures, KOTH, and Outpost
  • Each of these worlds will have different Potion Sickness thresholds based off of the gear type primarily used in the world.

Potion Thresholds

Players have separate Potion Sickness counters for when they throw a potion on themselves and when another player throws a potion on them

  • Self Potion Threshold - Increments when you throw a splash health potion
  • Other Potion Threshold - Increments when you are affected by a health potion thrown by another player (enemy or friendly)

These two thresholds do not affect eachother, meaning enemy players cannot spam a player with health potions to give them Potion Sickness
