Permission blocks are a valuable tool for island owners and co-leaders to protect and manage specific areas on the island, helping to prevent insiding. These blocks allow you to create dynamic access regions for designated players, and can be placed by any co-leader or higher-ranked island member.

Permission blocks can be purchased from the shop NPC at spawn or via the /shop command. They are available in various range sizes:

  • 2 blocks
  • 4 blocks
  • 8 blocks
  • 16 blocks
  • 32 blocks

Once placed on the island, the area within the permission block’s range will be protected. No island member can interact with objects in this area unless granted specific permissions by an owner or co-leader. These blocks are useful for:

  • Creating private areas for members
  • Protecting valuables
  • Managing access to sensitive areas

Permission blocks cannot overlap with one another, but any player with a co-leader rank or higher can bypass them.

Adding players to Permission Blocks

To give a player specific permission on a permission block, an island owner/co-leader will need to access the player/island role to the permission block. Every island member will be listed on the Region Members section of the permission block, and by default will have no permissions on perm blocks until an island owner/co-leader specifically grants them that permission in the Permission Block GUI.

In addition to being able to add specific island members to a permission block, permission blocks also contain four larger categories of players that can be added to them:

  • Public Region
  • Recruit Access
  • Member Access
  • Officer Access

When an island role is accessed to a permission block, any island member with the specified island role will be accessed to the permissions that are selected in the permission block.

  • EX: When officer access is selected on a permission block, any island member with the officer role will have access to the permissions granted by the permission block.

Permission Block Public Regions

Public Regions in Permission blocks allow islands to give access to the public to do limited activities on the island.

When Public Region is enabled on a Permission Block, any permissions set on that block will automatically apply to ANYONE within its region on the island.

  • EX: If Interact, damage entities, and pickup items are enabled, pickup exp is disabled, and Public Region is enabled. Any member of the public on your island can damage mobs and pickup the mob drops in the region the permission block covers, but they will not pickup XP from the mobs killed.

Permission Block Permissions

A Permission Block offers many of the same permissions as the regular /is perms command, but with additional options and features. The key difference is that Permission Blocks provide more specific control and override any permissions granted through /is perms. Unlike /is perms, which apply globally to a player or island role, Permission Blocks can restrict or access players to specific areas within a set radius. For example, a member with permission to place or break Auto Bots via /is perms can be restricted from doing so within the radius of a Permission Block that disallows those actions.

These are the permissions you can set on permission blocks:

Permission Block Pay-To-Access

Island Owners/Co-Leaders have the ability to set a flat fee and duration for players to gain access in a Permission Block Region. This allows you to advertise areas of you’re island to be used by players at a set price.

In the Permission Block GUI, select the Set An Access Fee option on the Block to define the amount needed to be paid by players to access the region and set the duration for which they can have access.
