Island-Bound Resources
Island-Bound Resources
Island-Bound Resources are a new system designed to keep core materials tied to the island where they were generated. Players voted for this change for Map #9, selecting Raw Resources, Smelted Resources, and Custom Recipe outputs as items that should remain island-locked.
Island-Bound Resources were introduced for Map #9 based on community voting, applying island-locking to Raw Resources, Smelted Resources, and Custom Recipe outputs. These items cannot leave the island where they were produced.

This system prevents players from moving key production items between islands while still allowing normal trading and transport of most progression materials.

= How Island-Bound Resources Work =
Any resource item created, harvested, dropped, or generated on an island becomes bound to that specific island. Bound items cannot be removed from the island where they originated.
The following categories are restricted and cannot leave their origin island:

= Storage & Trading Limitations =
Bound resources follow strict rules:

* Restricted items **cannot** be placed on the Auction House
* Restricted items **cannot** be stored in /pv
* Restricted items **cannot** be moved between islands through any normal method

This ensures raw and processed island-made materials stay on the island that produced them.

= The /collectresources System =
If a player tries to take a bound item off the island where it was created, it is not lost.

Instead:
= Removing Restricted Items =
* The item is automatically moved into the player’s '''/collectresources''' menu
If a player attempts to take a restricted resource off of its island:
* This menu is structured similarly to '''/collect'''
* Items are organized by the island they belong to

== Reclaiming Resources ==
* The item is automatically placed into the player's '''/collectresources'''
Players may only withdraw items from /collectresources **while physically standing on the island where those items were originally generated**.
* This interface functions similarly to '''/collect'''
* Items are organized by island name

This prevents unintended item transfers while ensuring that no items are destroyed by mistake.
A player may only reclaim items from '''/collectresources''' while standing on the island where those resources were originally generated.

= Summary =
= Summary =
Island-Bound Resources reinforce island-level identity and prevent resource-moving exploits while keeping the overall gameplay experience fair and balanced.
Island-Bound Resources ensure raw materials, smelted goods, and custom recipe outputs stay tied to the island that produced them. If removed accidentally, they are safely stored in '''/collectresources''', retrievable only from the correct island.
Players can still access misplaced items through /collectresources, ensuring no progress is lost even when restricted materials are moved off-island.

Island-Bound Resources Island-Bound Resources were introduced for Map #9 based on community voting, applying island-locking to Raw Resources, Smelted Resources, and Custom Recipe outputs. These items cannot leave the island where they were produced.

What Becomes Island-Bound

Any resource created on an island becomes restricted and cannot be removed from that island. This includes:

  • All Mob Drops
  • All Crop Drops
  • All Fresh Fishing Drops
  • All Farmed Fishing Drops
  • All Mining Resources
  • Filled Honeycomb & Honey Bottles
  • All versions of the above processed by Smelting Bots
  • All Bundled versions of the above

Restricted items cannot be moved through player vaults or listed on the Auction House.

Items That Are Not Restricted

The following can still be freely transported and traded, as before:

  • Empty Honeycomb
  • Science Scraps, Ingots, and Blocks
  • Nodes
  • Seeds
  • Spawners
  • All other items not listed as restricted

Removing Restricted Items

If a player attempts to take a restricted resource off of its island:

  • The item is automatically placed into the player's /collectresources
  • This interface functions similarly to /collect
  • Items are organized by island name

A player may only reclaim items from /collectresources while standing on the island where those resources were originally generated.

Summary

Island-Bound Resources ensure raw materials, smelted goods, and custom recipe outputs stay tied to the island that produced them. If removed accidentally, they are safely stored in /collectresources, retrievable only from the correct island.
