Gear Scaling is a global PvP mechanic on Cosmic Sky that automatically weakens any lower-tier equipment brought into a higher-tier environment. Players receive a chat notification upon entry to Adventures, KOTH, or LMS, indicating which scaling rules apply.
Global Rules
- Custom Enchantments
- Basic, Elite & Legendary tiers act as if Level 1
- Godly, Heroic, Mythic & Event tiers are fully disabled
- Armor Attributes: all vanilla and custom armor attributes are fully disabled
Applications
Adventures
Players entering a higher-tier Adventure (e.g., Chain → Lost Wasteland) will have their gear scaled:
- Basic/Elite/Legendary enchants ⇒ Level 1
- Godly/Heroic/Mythic/Event enchants ⇒ disabled
- Armor attributes ⇒ disabled
NOTE: Restrictions do not apply to Diamond Gear in The Abyss. Restrictions on the system overide enchant are still present``
King of the Hill (KOTH)
Upon entering a KOTH, the "Gear Standard" is set by the KOTH tier (e.g., Iron, Diamond). Any lower-tier equipment is scaled:
- Basic/Elite/Legendary enchants ⇒ Level 1
- Godly/Heroic/Mythic/Event enchants ⇒ disabled
- Armor attributes ⇒ disabled
Last Man Standing (LMS)
LMS uses the global `/levelcap` to determine its "Gear Standard." When a new tier unlocks, that becomes the baseline (e.g., Lost Wasteland ⇒ Iron). Lower-tier gear is scaled:
- Basic/Elite/Legendary enchants ⇒ Level 1
- Godly/Heroic/Mythic/Event enchants ⇒ disabled
- Armor attributes ⇒ disabled
